What are the working days in Pakistan

Holidays and celebrations in Pakistan

Since the Islamic lunar calendar applies in Pakistan and the religious holidays are based on these flexible dates, they move forward by about one and a half weeks each year. Secular holidays, on the other hand, are celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar that is familiar to us.

Business and opening times on workdays and public holidays

In Islam, Friday is like our Sunday, holy and therefore non-working. On the other hand, Saturday is a normal working day, and Sunday is again off. The regular office opening hours start between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., authorities even open some around 8 a.m. Many shops and banks take a longer lunch break and then stay open until around 5 p.m. in the afternoon. Post offices sometimes also have longer evening opening hours. It should be noted that many shops and offices shorten their opening times during Ramadan.
