Online survey: Corona consequences for people with disabilities

19th November 2020

What effects does the corona pandemic have on the participation of people with disabilities, chronic diseases and the need for care? How do rehabilitation offers have to be adapted and changed to ensure participation? In the corona consultation process of the German Association for Rehabilitation (DVfR), they are investigating these questions with the support of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS).

The aim of the DVfR survey is to examine the effects of the corona pandemic on people with disabilities from different perspectives:

The focus is on the experience of (1.) people with disabilities, chronic illnesses or the need for care themselves. In addition, however, there are also their (2.) relatives, (3.) rehabilitation services and facilities as well as operational actors, (4.) umbrella organizations of Services and institutions, (5.) service providers and payers as well as (6.) representatives of civil society have their say.

The results are intended to help support further political action by the Federal Government and all other parties involved for people with disabilities. In this way, all participants contribute to more inclusion in our society.

Resolution on the barrier-free emergency call

December 18, 2016

The German Association of the Deaf and the German Association of the Hard of Hearing, together with their umbrella organization, the German Society of the Hearing Impaired - Self-Help and Professional Associations (DG), call for the establishment of a nationwide, barrier-free emergency number.

The DG represents over 20 other nationwide organizations for the work of the hearing impaired.
The implementation of Art. 11 UN-CRPD (dangerous situations and humanitarian emergencies) as well as an effective organization of the emergency call for hearing-impaired people can only succeed if this is set up nationwide. Therefore, § 108 TKG (Telecommunications Act) and the Emergency Call Ordinance must be changed accordingly.

Further requirements for setting up the emergency call are indispensable:
