How is Hike different from WhatsApp

WhatsApp alternative: Hike Messenger starts in Germany

The hike, which was developed in India, was due to go into service in this country as early as mid-November. Due to server problems, the app had to be removed from the app store for a short time. As of today, hike is available again in Germany and is currently among the ten most downloaded free apps in the App Store. The rating can also be seen with currently four out of five stars. It is quite possible that the developer's goal of offering a visually particularly beautiful messenger is paying off.

In terms of security, hike wants to differentiate itself from WhatsApp with the help of 128-bit SSL encryption from the end of the year. The previous range of functions, however, differs little from WhatsApp. With hike, not only text messages but also photos, videos or voice messages can be sent to a person or group free of charge. Sending contacts or the current whereabouts are currently not part of the range of functions. The possibility of sending free SMS is widely advertised by hike, but this is only possible to Indian mobile phone numbers.

Hike is currently available in Germany, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Denmark and Belgium for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The service is to start in other countries in the next seven days. Austria and Switzerland will follow next Saturday. According to the developers, hike should basically remain free.
