INTPs discover theoretical possibilities everywhere. They see how something could be improved or transformed into something else. Much of their life takes place within their heads, where they analyze problems, identify patterns and find logical explanations. Clarity is your goal and to achieve it you accumulate a lot of knowledge. INTPs are a bit of the "absent-minded professor" type. You value intelligence and the ability to solve problems using logic. The urge to theorize questions and toss around in your head is often so strong that INTPs forget or ignore their surroundings. This sometimes goes so far that INTPs consider it their personal duty to solve theoretical problems and thus to advance society.
INTPs value knowledge about everything. In their minds, thoughts are constantly being worked on, which are intended to either prove or disprove existing theories. They approach problems or theories with enthusiasm and ignore common rules and opinions in order to find their own access to the matter. They look for patterns and logical explanations of everything that interests them. They are usually very smart and able to conduct their analyzes objectively. INTPs love new ideas - the more theoretical and abstract, the better. They also love to discuss these things with others. Sometimes they appear dreamy in others, which is because they are so preoccupied with thinking. They hate routine work. INTPs would prefer to have them come up with complex theoretical models that should then be implemented by others. They are so obsessed with theorizing that they spend an incredible amount of time and energy brooding over things that have piqued their interest.
INTPs don't like to lead or control others. Usually they are very, very tolerant and flexible in most situations - unless they see their core moral values being disregarded, in which case they adopt a stubborn opposition. INTPs are often very shy when they meet new people. On the flip side, however, INTPs are confident and entertaining when talking shop about their theories or when they are surrounded by good friends.
INTPs have little understanding for decisions based on personal feelings or sensitivities. They always strive to draw logical conclusions in order to solve problems, the relevance of subjective or emotional considerations sometimes eludes them. For this reason, INTPs also have more difficulties in properly assessing the feelings of others and meeting their emotional needs.
Knowledge will always triumph over ignorance; and whoever wants to determine his own fate must arm himself with the power of knowledge.
INTPs can be prone to problems such as self-infliction or rebile behavior, which limits their creative potential. People with a particularly weak F may also have difficulty giving their partner the warmth and security they need in intimate relationships. An INTP who does not learn to take into account the feelings of others can become over-critical and cynical in dealing with others. If INTPs do not find a suitable environment in which to live out their strengths and inclinations, they often become negative and uncomfortable. INTPs with a particularly weak S also often lose sight of their immediate surroundings and daily routine work.
INTPs attach particular importance to the fact that ideas and facts are articulated correctly and concisely. They like to express themselves in what they believe to be absolute truths. Unfortunately, sometimes your well-thought-out ideas are difficult to understand for others. However, INTPs often make little effort to explain themselves better in this regard. But it is important that INTPs value comprehensibility, otherwise they will end up being the only ones who understand their ideas and theories. However, once an INTP has completely figured out something, it usually quickly looks for a new topic or project.
INTPs are very independent, unconventional and original. They rarely pursue traditional values like security or popularity. They usually have very complex personalities and are prone to restlessness and temperamental behavior. They are resourceful and develop unique mindsets that open up new perspectives on the world for them. Accordingly, INTPs are particularly common among scientists and inventors.
It is best to give an INTP its freedom in which it can work independently on its theories. In an environment that supports its creative genius, an INTP can perform really well. They are the pioneers for new thinking in society.
