You can hand in the coins you have collected in a sealable plastic bag - a so-called safebag - to be credited to your account. Safebags are available free of charge in every private customer center of the Berliner Sparkasse.

Easy delivery

In just six short steps to successfully handing in your Safebag:

  1. Take an empty Safebag with you from a private customer center
  2. Fill in the front of the bag including the tear-off slip
  3. Fill in coins (no banknotes / notes, foreign currencies, other items)
  4. Close the bag with the adhesive tape provided
  5. Search directly online for a suitable branch for depositing the Safebag
  6. Return the safebag to the private customer center and keep the tear-off slip as a receipt

  • Label the safebag before you fill in the coins
  • Close the safebag carefully with the integrated adhesive tape. We ask for your caution, as the integrated adhesive tape sticks very strongly and can only be used once

Where can I drop off my Safebags?

It is possible to hand it in to the employees in our private customer centers during opening hours. A list of private customer centers that accept Safebags can be found here.

Do I have to roll my loose coins?

No, just fill the unsorted euro-denominated coins into the safebag and close it with the integrated adhesive tape.

When will the amount be credited to my account?

As a rule, the credit is issued within a week. In a few exceptional cases it can take a few days longer - please be patient.

Can I only hand in Safebags in person?

No, someone else is welcome to hand in a safebag on your behalf - please pay particular attention to correct labeling in these cases.

No, we only offer this service to customers of Berliner Sparkasse. Please contact your house bank or open an account at Berliner Sparkasse.

Can I also use a safebag from other institutes?

No, please only use the free Safebag from Berliner Sparkasse.

When will I find out how much money was in my Safebag?

You can find out the exact value of your deposit when it is credited to your account.
