Detailed itinerary:

Note arrival:

Bangalore or Bengaluru (BLR) offers direct connecting flights over the Middle East and some destinations in Southeast Asia. Domestic flights go from Delhi or Mumbai to Bangalore. Bangalore is our meeting point and you should plan to arrive in the afternoon or at night.

Day 1: Bangalore

Your guide will meet you at the airport and help you transfer to your accommodation, Casa Cottage, in the heart of the city. After a short break, visit the city's main drag, M.G Road. Criss-crossed by narrow streets, bookstores, modern clothing stores, pubs and cafes, the street is full of people in the evening. Bangalore earned itself the nickname "Beer Capital" of India with around 70 pubs within a radius of 2 km in this area.

Day 2: Mysore - Train ride, palace and market walk

We know you'd like to get going, but we're on other bikes (a train) bypassing the traffic and the long transfer between cities. After lunch (lunch is served on the train) we marvel at the magnificent buildings of Mysore.

We start with the palace also known as Amba Vilas Palace. It is a charming 14th century building that is beautifully lit at night for special occasions. After seeing this historic sight, we head to the busy Devaraj Market. The market is an extraordinary mixture of sounds, smells and other things worth seeing. Stroll past the stalls displaying conical piles of kumkum, stacks of glittering bangles, jaggery blocks and huge mounds of fragrant marigolds, jasmine, asters and interesting antiques!

We meet for dinner in the evening to celebrate the start of a fabulous bike tour.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 3: Mysore - Kaveri Trail

A short transfer of about 1 hour brings us to Somnathpur Temple, a Hindu temple from the 13th century on the banks of the Kaveri River in Somanathapura, Karnataka. The ornate temple is a perfect example of Hoysala architecture, where the buildings were constructed in soapstone. Enjoy the stunning temple with our local guide.

From here you cycle along the idyllic river Kaveri past rice fields, sugar cane plantations and banana plantations towards Srirangapatna to a river island. Srirangapatna was the site of the decisive battle between Tipu Sultan and the British East India Company, a turning point in Indian history. End the ride with a well-deserved meal of local specialties.

Meals: breakfast, lunch

Day 4: Masinagudi - Agricultural Trail

We leave the cultural capital of Karnataka and wind our way through the hills of Chamundi, passing farms and villages where we get to know rural life in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Post-lunch shuttle to Masinagudi, a popular meeting place for wildlife fans and professional wildlife photographers from all over the world.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 5: Nilgiris - Segur switchbacks

Today we will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of rolling misty hills covered in Shola forest as we climb through 36 hairpin turns and reach Ooty which is at an altitude of over 2,000m and is part of the amazing Nilgiris biosphere. Admire the views in all directions and make your way up.

Later, take a shuttle to your hotel.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 6: Nilgiris - Free day

Today you can plan your own day. Enjoy the day at leisure, explore the nearby areas on foot, or take a ride on the historic toy train that travels through the forest and valleys of Nilgiris!

Meals: breakfast

Day 7: Pollachi - epic descent

A breathtaking hilly descent awaits you from Coonoor with spectacular views of the mountains. Later we will take you to the Pollachi countryside to spend the night there before heading to the Munnar Tea Mountains.

Immerse yourself in the country life while staying in a rural village in Pollachi, an unexplored area within India's tourist district.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 8: Munnar - Sandalwood Trail

This morning after breakfast we drive through the sand forest of Marayoor. The gradually rising path meanders through tea and sandalwood plantations.

We continue our ascent until our lunch stop at a local restaurant. After lunch, cycle between the tea plantations in the rugged Munnar Hills to your hotel.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 9: Munnar - our favorite trip to the mountain station

Explore Munnar's tea gardens on foot or - when your legs are ready to ride - by bike and make your way to Top Station, a lookout point of great tourist importance. The route to the mountain station is one of our most popular bike routes in Kerala. As we drive all the way to the top station, you will be overwhelmed by a breathtaking view of the mountains and deep valleys.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 10: Periyar - tea trail

Today you drive through “God's own route”. It's a breathtaking climb from Munnar through Lockhart Gap, with spectacular views of tea gardens and lakes along the way, until we finally descend slowly on a winding country road past small villages and spice plantations, then to settle in the town of Thekkady.

If time permits, we'll go to a garden full of spices and learn about the spices made by a local farmer.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 11: Alleppey - hilly trail

It's going to be a nice drive - from the Cardamom Hills of Thekkady through the tea gardens that are lower down. A hilly ride, both with inclines and steep climbs. But the cool weather will help you find your way around better on this challenging ride.

After cycling we drive to Alleppey. Alleppey is on the edge of the mighty Vembanad Lake.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 12: Vembanad Lake - Free day

Today you will spend the night on Vembanad Lake on your own private houseboat. On the houseboats, which are converted rice barges, you will meet the captain, cook and crew. We just lay back and relax under the starry sky.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 13: Kochi - Coastal Path

On the last day you cycle along the beach road and past fishing villages and numerous Christian churches along the coast towards Fort Kochi, the historic port city in Kerala, which was once known for its spice trade.

Meals: breakfast, lunch

Day 14: Shuttle to Kochi Airport

Our trip ends at the hotel in the late morning. Depending on your time, we can take a city tour of Fort Kochi and learn more about the history of this ancient port city.

Your guides will make arrangements for transportation to Kochi Airport.
